Method of Compliance for Lead Awareness

•If the length of exposure is more than 30 days above the PEL per year, the employer shall implement engineering control and administrative control to reduce and maintain employee exposure to lead.

•If such controls are not feasible, employer shall provide employees with respiratory protection. •Where engineering and work practice controls do not reduce employee exposure to or below the 50 ug/m3 PEL, the employer shall supplement these controls with respiratory protection according to 29 CFR 1910.1025.

•The compliance program shall be established and implemented to reduce the level of exposure to or below PEL.
