Employer Responsibility

• Conduct assessments of the  workplace for respiratory hazards
• Apply control measures for respiratory  hazards
• Have a written respiratory protection program
• Provide respirators, fit testing, and training  at no cost to employees

Employee Responsibility

• Use the appropriate respirator for the hazard and according to manufacturer’s instructions
• Properly inspect and maintain your respirator
• Know what to do if a respirator malfunctions
• Report any illness
• ALWAYS REPORT any illness or discomfort during or after tasks  requiring use of a respirator
• RECOGNIZE SIGNS and SYMPTOMS that may limit or prevent effective use of respirator
