Custom Courses
We can provide our quality training programs at your facility, as well as, specialized training at our location. We have the necessary training equipment and facilities to provide you with the quality training. Customized courses can be designed to target your special equipment or job needs. Some specialty courses that have been written are proper usage of golf carts by maintenance departments, bucket truck usage, and Geronimo.
We can design a course to fit your specific safety needs. Training equipment is provided by ASTM. On-site training results in less down time and is very cost effective. ASTM also has facilities available for technical rescue training. Facilities are located only a short distance from the Lafayette Airport.

Tower Climbing:
Advanced Safety & Training Management, Inc. (ASTM) has a 60' erected communications tower on our specifically specificly design for Tower Climbing Safety. This one-day course will develop students understanding and awareness of the hazards, theories, and techniques of tower rescue. The course will focus on basic rescue techniques, knot tying & usage, care and maintenance of rescue equipment. The course includes classroom time as well as hands on experience tower climbing and rescue. Students will climb, learn how to position, rescue personnel, rappel off of the tower. The Student will be certified in Fall Protection and Rescue Techniques. A written exam and proficiency in climbing techniques is required for certification.
Tower Rescue:
The Tower Rescue program was designed for the Telecommunication, Railroad, Transportation and Electric Power Generation Industry. It includes the current OSHA guidelines for fall protection, as well as new guidelines for Rope Access Technicians. A union with traditional fall protection and climbing/rescue equipment will be explored for the maximum safety of climbers and rescuers. Rescue techniques for various situations dealing with ill or incapacitated climbers will be practiced in very intensive hands-on sessions.
Geronimo:
Geronimo Line Safety emergency escape device is used for a fast, controlled descent from an oil derrick, tower or other elevated work area.
Bucket Truck:
Confined Rescue:
Confined Space Rescue Awareness takes a look at the OSHA regulation for Permit Required Confined Spaces - and the requirements for Emergency Rescue Services. Entrant and Attendant responsibilities, types of confined spaces, hazard recognition and control, atmospheric monitoring, personal protective equipment, rescue equipment and patient care considerations will all be discussed.
